Essay
by: Santiago Rodriguez

“Doubt thou the stars are fire;
Doubt that the sun doth move;
Doubt truth to be a liar;
But never doubt I love”
- William Shakespeare, Hamlet

Here lies one whose name was writ in water.
John Keats

Liquid beauty

Rereading William Shakespeare’s quote above,  I  led myself into the deep introspection exercise  of relating literature to real life. In doing so,  I realised myself   that I had such wide array of possible scenarios in my life to fit out these words that I was overwhelmed and Immediately I  started to ran out of words. Quiet, thoughtful: I felt myself dry, thirsty with my mouth on fire, cadging for a drop of water for my shrivelled throat. Then I agreed with Keats’ quote; everyday someone whose name was writ with water someday dies without it.
                Analysing the situation of natural resources in time around the world, it is attainable to say that the panorama isn’t the best. Due to the fact that every day more the amount of wild forest chopped down is highly increasing all around the world. Therefore, the amount of water sources is drastically being reduced. Actually, nobody is angling for a solution. As a matter of fact, people continue being incautious about what’s really happening with their primary source of subsistence. Water.   Marshall, T., & Cutraro, J. (2014 ). Explain the several issues on these days related to water “the world’s most valuable substance” in their article they go through the very beginning of a drought in some areas of the United States, where water seems to be as scarce as peasants sowing the crops. Continuing with the remarkable role of water for the survival of Palestinians in the Gaza strip due to the monopoly of water Jews have and the sanctions Jordan might receive if they continue providing water to Palestinians in the Middle East conflict, next they also describe the different measures most Americans are taken related to water preservation if they could face another terrorist attack. Hence, most of the Americans have changed their minds saving and storing water as if this was the most valuable substance indeed. Later, this article also furnishes an interesting explanation about the vital role of each molecule of water in the human body, going through the whole inside blood cells compound in a large amount by water to the very saliva which helps to digest food. Finally, this couple present the privileges states of mind provided by water in the human body.  At the end of this article this two reporters ask. What your water story? Something I might dare to answer as hamlet did, in one scene with his dearest Ophelia. - “Doubt thou the stars are fire; Doubt that the sun doth move; -- Doubt truth to be a liar; -- But never doubt I love”.

               Trying to keep myself out of the rain the other evening, it came to my mind the idea of lacking of rain. Something real bad, because of the fact that the world’s drama, romance and poetry have being linked to rain as a long life companionship, infeasible divided.  At least in entertainment!  But in real life, lack of rain could be an issue in some years, given the fact that natural hydrological sources are being reduced due to the growth of the world’s population which is esteemed to be multiplied in three billion during the following 50 years. The previous added to the on-going contamination processes by human causes, such as terrible management of industrial waste or refuse which is continuously drop to the sea or big lakes in several parts of the world as well in most of the natural reservations all around the united states, phenomenon which is even worse in third world countries, were law and policies for chemical or industrial refuse are still not clear. Therefore, most of this contaminating substances are spread everywhere threaten entire communities who lack of train and knowledge about how to deal with the possible risk of consuming polluted water. Climate change is another issue in this situation regarding, water and hydrological sources, because water supplies in many countries around the world have been reduced, inasmuch as rainy seasons are unreliable and weather tent to change so often that every now and then it is unattainable to predict seasons and to be ready to store water or to be ready to face a whole dry summer that lately last too long.  Safe drinking water is essential. (2008, January 1) Finally, lacking of words and fortunately not of water I just can cited Keats; - Here lies one whose name was writ in water. Understanding that each one’s death is not the end of this world, and that future generations will need water as natural sources more than us. Therefore, the huge responsibility of take good care of every natural source in this planet. Specially water.
Remembering the wise words of a famous singer, I could state that I can imagine a world in peace, a world in pure contact with nature, a world where people stop hating each other without reason; I can imagine a word with no corruption at all, with equality and integration.  But I just cannot imagine a word without water falling from the sky running through my skin, making me feel alive in this global society that every day seems to be a lot more death alive. Sadly, on these days people spend too much time misusing water because they don’t know how much it cost to find it pure. In consequence, I like to think in water as hamlet used to thought in Ophelia, “a pure love” I like to thing in water as Keats did “the beginning of a life” thus I like to think in water!

Using those elements, it is very important to look up into our classrooms talented pupils, students in which we as a professor can be focus on their talents to find the best strategies to make them a better person.

Teaching basic skills and subject matter—the fundamental duties of teachers—can be abundantly satisfying if done creatively and successfully. But finding and nurturing special talents in children and youth, and seeing those students and their talents blossom, are among the great joys of teaching. In fact, our task in school should be to do both—to teach basic skills well and as early as possible, and to identify and nurture students' strengths.

On that way we specially turns into the correct way to give students wide possibilities to find themselves, using their own talents, or maybe discovering by practice, next June 9th we are going to have an special event in which most of students reflect their talents on the “English Day” as a Luigi`s Awards, films, Dancers, Singers, Staff, photographers, reporters as so on performing their talents, they were practicing after Holy Week really hard, just focusing on The Main Event, so, the questions is: It is important to Professors Identify special talents in the Classroom?

Our Project “The hospital”

In our first term  we were learning about  the hospital, children were able to investigate, play, learn and recognize  the importance of a hospital , the different doctors activities and how take care our body.  Children learned about healthy and unhealthy food, good hygiene habits and exercises.

 The last April 7th , we created  a hospital in our building, teachers and students were doctors or nurses , and our classrooms were doctor’s offices and surgery rooms. Through role games,   in order to focus on the hospital, children applied their knowledge about, doctors, patients and healthy habits.  Students were happy.  It was a great project!

Enjoy a musical internet!

A lot of research have demonstrated that music can improve children’s skills like attention, perception and their memory . According to this, children should be part of musical activities, because through music, they can learn, remember, perform and have different ways of understanding.

Living St. Patrick at Luigi Pirandello School

Here at Luigi Pirandello School we are celebrating that we are in the month Saint Patrick, of one of the most beloved celebrations for the Anglo-Saxon countries that takes place on March 17th. But for our fourth graders it goes further, why? Because we decided that our celebration is not only going around Saint Patrick but instead we chose to know a lot more about one of the most fascinating countries in the British Islands and the hometown of our celebration: Ireland.

So, we took some of the symbols that marked the entrance of Christianism into Ireland by Saint Patrick’s hand and actually is the most known emblem of this Irish Holyday, which is the Shamrock. The shamrock symbolized the powers of nature for old Celtic tribes and was the way Saint Patrick chose to explain to those ancient tribes the union of Christian trinity, Father, son and Holy Spirit. For our students the use of the shamrock is the way they can express their relation with nature and the care of environment and also communicate how they can help their mates to understand the importance of those actions.
